Overview

Engage in a comprehensive week of learning and collaboration focused on  promoting inclusive education in international schools. The schedule is designed to provide a mix of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and opportunities for strategic planning.

The program kicks off daily at 8:00 AM with opening remarks and logistics, followed by an “Ignite Speaker” session, with inspiring speakers.

Daily Schedule

Admissions leaders participate in the “Inclusive Admissions” course throughout the week. This impactful course is led by Mona Stuart & April Remfrey. The focus is on embracing diverse learners in international schools.

Key Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the spectrum of learning differences and their impact on student performance
  2. Recognize the potential of students with learning disabilities and the value they bring to a diverse school community
  3. Learn to differentiate between learning challenges that require significant support and those that can be addressed through Tier 1 interventions or simple accommodations
  4. Explore best practices for collaborating with Student Services departments in the admissions process
  5. Develop strategies to advocate for inclusive admissions policies within your school
  6. Master techniques for conducting insightful family interviews that reveal a student’s true potential

The elective offer for admissions directors include:

  3. Behavior Basics Catered to Admissions
  4. Marketing, Messaging and Avoiding Ableism
  5. Creating Collaborative Cultures
  6. Executive Functioning

These electives address the specific aspects of inclusive admissions and support services.

Dedicate your afternoons to practical applications and teamwork

  1. Action planning sessions with school team to  focus on developing inclusive admissions policies
  2. Schools with existing policies will work on advancing along the disability inclusion continuum
  3. Collaborative policy creation

Each day one school shares their inclusion journey. They focus on one aspect, such as admissions, LCE programs, finances, and more.

Attendees are encouraged to engage and ask questions.
