Institute Objectives
Promote Inclusive Policies and Practices: Participants will learn to develop and implement policies that encourage the acceptance and support of neurodivergent students and those with disabilities. The program focuses on best practices for inclusive education, including the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
Build Capacity of All School Community Members: The Institute equips attendees with evidence-based inclusive practices to support diverse learners. It fosters a deeper understanding of how different diagnoses and learning profiles impact students’ needs, informing both admissions decisions and appropriate support systems.
Foster a Collaborative Culture and Community of Acceptance: The program aims to foster a school-wide culture where all staff embrace the core values of inclusion and believe in every student’s potential for success. It encourages teamwork among student service departments, general education teachers, and school leaders.
Develop Expertise in Every School: Participants will explore strategies for recruiting faculty with an inclusive mindset and discuss financial models to support inclusive practices.
Promote a Global Community of Disability Advocates: The Office of Overseas Schools and SENIA International believe that expanding and enhancing inclusive programs that will serve all students requires all of us to support and collaborate with individuals and schools striving to create inclusive international learning communities.
